The National Weather Service in Louisville has pulled out the stops in describing this weekend’s weather: Major winter storm, Blue Norther, vertical motions maximized, vigorous forcing, amplified heights and thickness, anomalously high – and here is one I have never seen them use – Saturday night will be “gelid” which means icy and extremely cold.

It sounds like this will be some wild winter weather. I have been advised that if parked outside I should leave wiper blades up so they do not freeze to the windshield in the Saturday/Sunday flash freeze. My car lives in a garage but I might raise the garage door a tiny bit so the rubber seal at the bottom does not freeze to the concrete. Temps will plummet 25-30 degrees in just a couple of hours.
